Welcome to WestLB in Brazil
The activities of WestLB AG are carried out in Brazil by its direct subsidiary, Banco WestLB do Brasil S.A. As such, the Bank’s clients benefit from WestLB Group’s overall market and product knowledge and in-depth understanding of client’s business and banking needs.
WestLB established its presence in Brazil in 1911, when a group of European and Latin-American businessmen founded the Banco Italo-Belga to finance foreign trade between Europe and Brazil. Years later the Bank became WestLB Banco Europeu. Since November 2002, Banco WestLB do Brasil S.A. is the legal successor of WestLB Banco Europeu. In October 2003, Central Bank of Brazil authorized WestLB in Brazil to operate as a multiple services bank. |
